The biggest of the Iowa gambling dens is the Meswaki Bingo Casino Hotel, an Amerindian casino in Tama, with 127,669 sq.ft. of casino area, 1,500 slot machines, 30 table games, such as 21, craps, roulette, and baccarat, and several styles of poker; as well as 3 dining rooms, daily productions, and gaming lessons. A further big Native American gambling hall is the Winna Vegas, with 45,000 square feet, 668 slot machines, and fourteen table games. Furthermore, the Ameristar Casino Hotel in Council Bluffs never closes, with 38,500 square feet, 1,589 slot machines, 36 table games, and four eatery’s. There are several other popular Iowa gambling dens, including Harrah’s Council Bluffs, with 28,250 square feet, 1,212 one armed bandits, and 39 table games.
A smaller Iowa gambling den is the Diamond Jo, a river boat gambling den in Dubuque, with 17,813 square feet, 776 slot machines, and 19 table games. The Catfish Bend water based, in Fort Madison, with 13,000 sq.ft., 535 one armed bandits, and 14 table games. An additional Iowa river boat casino, The Isle of Capri, is open all day and night, with 24,939 sq.ft., 1,100 one armed bandits, and 24 table games. The Mississippi Belle II, a 10,577 square foot river based casino in Clinton, has 506 slot machines, 14 table games, live shows, and Thursday 21 events.
Iowa casinos provide a great deal of tax money to the state government of Iowa, which has allowed the funding of a lot of state wide projects. Visitors have gotten bigger at an accelerated percentage along with the demand for services and a growth in jobs. Iowa gambling halls have been instrumental to the expansion of the market, and the affection for wagering in Iowa is absolute.
